Chapter 13: Why we fight
In Chapter 13, Oscar Koski begins his training with the Army Air Force.
1. The details of Oscar's training at Hotel Chalfont reconstructed from other sources, including accounts of training at the hotel and accounts of training at other bases. There was a large sergeant nicknamed Tiny at the post.
2. Oscar does not remember seeing wrecked ships outside the harbor, but they are mentioned in other accounts from that time.
