Chapter 4: The promise
Chapter 4 details Lilly's efforts to take care of the Koski children.
1. The conversation between Lilly and George is reconstructed, but is closely based on the long-term relationship between Lilly and George. Lilly devoted much of her life to her brothers and sisters. She did marry George Sarberg, but not until 1955, after Edna Mae grew up and got married herself. Because she married so late, Lilly never had children of her own.
