Chapter 51: Such happiness doesn't last forever
In Chapter 51, the Art and the men of the 332nd move further into the heart of Germany.
1. The incident with the dead baby floating in the water is based on Art's account of that event. He never forgot that baby.
2. The conversation between Warren Babcock and Art is fictionalized, although the cathedral in Munster was reportedly untouched by bombs.
3. The incident with the German boys and "Das Amerikan Bomber!" is as told by Art.
4. The quotes from Art are based on his letters to Jenny.
