Chapter 53: Has anyone heard from George?
Chapter 53 returns the focus to George Koski.
1. The account of George's military experience is based on the available information, including what he told Oscar, Art, Edna Mae, and his fiancee. We do not know for certain if he was injured in a glider crash or in an accident.
2. There is significant evidence that George was involved in military intelligence. Letters from that period mention background checks on him by the FBI, presumably for security clearances. He made numerous rather mysterious references to the place he had been during the war. His daughter remembers him showing her a box with a name badge in it that was not his name--presumably that was a name used during some sort of undercover work.
