Mission Photos
While researching Ordinary Heroes: Six Stars in the Window, the author acquired a large number of original photographs taken on missions by the 15th AAF in Italy. Many of these photographs were taken from planes of the 301st Bomb Group. These photos show exactly what the crews of the B-17s would have seen if they looked down during the bomb runs.
