What computers can use the BookOnCD and BookOnDownload?
The Ordinary Heroes BookOnCD and BookOnDownload will run on most current Windows and Apple Mac computers. It has been extensively tested on Windows XP (Home and Pro) and Windows Vista (all versions) and recent versions of the Mac OS X operating systems including Leopard (10.5) and Tiger (10.4). It may run on earlier versions of Windows and OS X, but has not been tested on them. To test the digital products on older computers, just insert the BookOnCD or download the free BookOnDownload and give it a try.
When I start the digital book, a message indicates that it is running in demonstration mode. What does that mean?
When first run on any computer, the digital versions of Ordinary Heroes check to see if the product has been activated on that computer. If it has not been activated, the product runs in demonstration mode, limited to the first eight chapters of content. All of the content is there, on the CD or on your computer, but it’s locked.
To access the full product, click Help, then click Pay for this product. Complete the on-line payment process using your credit card or PayPal account. After completing the online purchase process, you will receive an e-mail direct from PayPal, the premiere online payment processing company. The confirmation usually arrives very quickly—often in less than a minute.
After receiving that confirmation e-mail, just open the BookOn product and click Help, Activate this product. Then type or copy and paste the information from your confirmation e-mail to activate the product and instantly gain access to the entire digital content. The entire process is very quick and very easy, usually taking about two minutes.
NOTE: You should print or save a copy of the PayPal confirmation e-mail as you can use that information to activate the product on a second computer, such as a laptop, or if you switch to a new computer.
How much does it cost to purchase and activate the digital versions of the book?
The cost for full use of the BookOnCD is four dollars and ninety-five cents ($4.95) US. That’s a reduced price since the assumption is that you’ve already purchased the paper book. The price for full use of the BookOnDownload is nine dollars and ninety-five cents ($9.95) US, since no other purchase is required for the BookOnDownload. Either way, that’s a pretty low price for a media-rich, interactive product containing the full book and over four hours of video content.
Is the online payment process safe?
Yes, the online payment process is completed via a secured, encrypted connection direct to the PayPal server. The online purchase process is safer than using your credit card to make a purchase in a local restaurant or store. It would be exceedingly difficult for anyone to intercept the online purchase process.
Will I have to activate the product the next time I want to use it?
No, you only have to activate the product one time. After activation, it remains activated for full use on your computer from that point on.
What if I later move to a new computer?
Once you’ve paid for use of a digital version of the book, you can activate that same product on additional computers as desired. If you buy a new computer, you won’t need to purchase the product again. Just insert the BookOnCD and click Help, Activate this product. Then type or copy and past the information from the PayPal confirmation e-mail to the activation screen for instant activation and full access to the product.
