On March 7th, 2014, the project commencement ceremony of the Ecuador Extra High Voltage Transmission Systems Project at 500kV contracted by HEI was held on the EL INGA substation site. Mr. Geovanny Pardo, the President of the Transmission and Distribution Company of the CELEC EP, assistant general manager, Project manager and other leaders of the Owner group attended the commencement ceremony.

Ecuador Extra High Voltage Transmission Systems Project at 500kV is the EPC Project and the O&M Project for 500kV Transmission Systems signed between CELEC EP and HEI, which includes construction of four new substations at 500kV, two new substations at 230kV, one expansion substation at 230kV, upgrading and rebuilding the protection system of four substations and communication system of eleven substations, and construction of the double-circuit transmission lines at 230kV which totaled 287 kilometers as well as the 611 kilometers long transmission lines at 500kV. At present, the prospecting works of EL INGA substation has been totally completed and is ready for civil engineering construction.

Mr. Wang Jianjun, the General Manager of the HEI’s Renewable Energy & Power Transmission Division attended the commencement ceremony and said HEI will carry on the good traditions, collaborate actively and work closely with the Owner, using his best endeavors to ensure the successful execution of the Ecuador 500kV Project in order to make it another excellent Project of HEI.
